Join me for a real life Wix Branded App Review! Recently, I had the privilege of developing an app for the Jefferson County Long-Term Relief Group (JCLTRG). This innovative app is designed to keep county members informed and prepared before, during, and after a disaster. It offers a wealth of resources, from preparation tips to post-disaster steps, and provides direct links to county services and emergency contacts.
Wix Branded App Overview
The app, available on both the Apple and Google Play stores, boasts a user-friendly interface. Key features include:
Login and Notifications: Users can create an account and receive real-time alerts.
County Information: Access to contact details and resources of various county offices.
Disaster Preparedness and Recovery: Comprehensive guides and resources for pre- and post-disaster actions.
Alerts and Damage Reporting: Up-to-date notifications and a feature to report home damages.
Privacy Policy: Ensures user data protection and transparency.
Building the App on Wix
The app was built using Wix. JCLTRG already had a site built in Wix and all of the features they requested were able to be created in a Wix Branded App so it was a no brainer!
I really appreciate that Wix handles the submission process to Apple and Google stores, ensuring a smooth launch. The cost includes a yearly fee of $100 for Apple and a lifetime fee of $100 for Google, along with monthly Wix subscription options starting at $99.
JCLTRG created accounts at both Apple and Google and then gave me the reins to start building the app.
Cost and Setup
The setup process is straightforward. If you don't have a website, I can build one for you on Wix. For those with existing websites, a behind-the-scenes site can be created to support the app. The overall timeline for app development and approval is approximately one month.
